Han Pijesak is a town settlement and the seat of the municipality of Han Pijesak, located in the eastern part of Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located at the confluence of the Stupčanica and Žepa rivers at an altitude of 1,100m, which places it in the group of settlements with the highest altitude in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is surrounded by hills and lush coniferous and deciduous forests that contributed to this place becoming an air spa, which was officially confirmed at the beginning of November 2023. , when the entire area of ​​the Han Pijesak municipality was declared an air spa.
The basic preconditions for the development of residential and weekend tourism are natural beauty, climate, hunting and fishing, cultural and historical values, and the development of mountain and winter tourism. This area is morphologically and climatically suitable for winter tourism and winter sports, and the mountains represent the strongest feature of the area’s tourist offer.
It is said that “snow was born in Han Pijesak”, but an important element of its attractiveness is what it provides during the summer months. The abundance of forests and pleasant temperatures attract more and more people from larger cities who want to have their own cottage in the area of ​​our municipality.
Tourism is recognized as one of the priority sectors and various projects are currently being implemented in this area.
