The main activity of the Society is mountaineering (includes walking, climbing mountains and other similar activities). The main activities of the mountaineering society are organizing hikes, trips or expeditions (in the country and abroad with a special emphasis on the ascent of Veliki Žep – the highest peak of our native Javor mountain) as well as relevant courses and lectures; leading mountaineering activities; arrangement and marking of hiking trails, roads and important mountain peaks and other mountaineering exclusivities, contributing to the preservation of the environment in rural areas through the implementation of various cleaning and landscaping activities; organizing trips, camps and other mountaineering events; research and collection of data on natural and cultural-historical heritage in the area of Han Pijesak municipality, as well as promotion of natural and cultural-historical heritage with the aim of their tourism valorization. The company was founded in 2019. and in the previous period independently organized a large number of mountain climbing events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, hosting over 500 mountain climbers.

Throughout the year, for visitors to our area, the mountaineering association organizes trips to the Drina canyon, with a visit to the famous bridge on the Žepa, which Andrić wrote about. Society members climbed mountain peaks in the French Alps, Montenegro and Greece. 2021. In 2010, over 100 mountaineers climbed to the highest peak of Mount Javor, which is the first such event in the history of mountaineering in our region. The society marked and marked with high-quality signposts the hiking trail from Kraljevo Polje (populated place) to the soldiers’ cemetery from the First World War, Vrani Kamen.

The Society uses a mountain hut for accommodation and rest for mountaineers and other nature lovers, which was given to the Society by one person, a lover of mountaineering, who wanted to encourage the development of mountaineering in the area of the municipality of Han Pijesak. Although the mountaineering society certainly cannot be considered a service provider in rural tourism in the narrower sense, its role and experience in the process of activating the tourist potential of the municipality of Han Pijesak are very significant. The activities that the Company realizes are directly related to the goals of our project, and that is why it is recognized as an important partner and a kind of catalyst in the processes of creating our tourist product, since it has relevant experience and can promote and attract visitors from different origins through its channels. There are currently 69 active members in the association.

Through the project, the mountaineering society acquired special equipment (with an emphasis on bicycles, snowshoes and poles) which strengthened their material capacities, i.e. improved their opportunities to be part of various tourist packages (leading tourist groups, renting equipment to tourists, etc.).
